ABOUT OUR FURNITURE

FRAMING
All frames are built with select, kiln dried hardwoods. Stress joints are double doweled, glued, bolted and screwed (wherever possible). Only the finest materials available are used. All items are built entirely by hand, therefore all dimensions are approximate. The majority of our furniture is made from select white maple, however there are exceptions and we reserve the right to make any changes in design, construction and dimensions or to discontinue products all without notice. In most cases, we can accommodate changes in dimensions. Please inquire in advance as this will impact out lead time.

UPHOLSTERY

Eight-way, hand tied springs or Zigzag springs are standard as are hand shaped, high density polyurethane foam wrapped with Dacron. Certain pieces require down, in which case a 10/90 ratio is standard.

FINISHES

WOOD FINISHES
As no two trees are exactly alike, variations in color and grain should be expected. Finish samples (available upon request) represent an average result and are in no way intended to be an exact duplicate. We use Italian catalyzed lacquers and aniline dyes engineered for beauty and durability. Species of wood is oak, walnut, or ash. Please specify when ordering.

STANDARD FINISHES

Brown Mahogany Natural
Red Mahogany Satin Black Lacquer
Limed (oak only) Satin White Lacquer
Coffee Bean Medium Walnut
Black Ebonized Hand Oiled Walnut
Whitewashed Grey Wash

CUSTOM FINISHES
In most cases finishes can be substituted. This will result in additional charges (depending on the degree of difficulty and if approval samples are required) and production time. We will need a finish sample, manufacturer’s paint number or a Pantone number. You will be quoted before we proceed.

METAL FINISHES
Items with metal components are assembled with standard or “as shown” finishes. Having said that, we can usually
accommodate changes in color (e.g., brass, nickel, etc.) and/or luster (e.g., gloss, matte, etc.). This will result in additional charges and additional production time.

CUSTOMER’S OWN MATERIAL (COM) CUSTOMER’S OWN LEATHER (COL)
Please note all COM is based off of 54” wide finished goods. Please measure accordingly. If less than 54” wide, additional material may be required. Please ship all fabrics prepaid to our factory (1700 North Throop Street, Chicago, Illinois 60642). We cannot accept COD shipments. All goods travel at the customer’s own risk and expense and NIEDERMAIER is not responsible for lost or damaged COM/COL. Please instruct your fabric vendor to tag your goods with as much information as possible. At a minimum, the name of your firm, your PO# and the item name and/or numbers should be included. Additional helpful information might include your client’s name or the name of the job, the NIEDERMAIER order (NF#), etc. We receive large amounts of material and a fair amount bears little or no information. This often results in significant production delays.

You can find the amount of COM and COL required by referring to the NIEDERMAIER price list or by visiting our website www.niedermaier.com. COM is listed in yards and COL is listed in Square Feet. Please remember that changing item dimensions will change the COM/COL requirements (please call for specifics). Moreover, our COM requirements are based on plain (no pattern) 54” wide goods. If your material has a pattern or is greater or less than 54” wide, please fax material information to the attention of our upholstery department at 1.312.492.9444 and we will calculate the proper yardage for you.
